Kabbo reaches semis

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS)- Kabbo Gayen confirmed his spot of boys’ singles semifinal of the 2nd ITF Asia Under-14 Development Championships beating Peiris Pattiyage Dinuga Damsath of host Sri Lanka 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the quarterfinal held in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Tuesday.

In other boys’ singles quarterfinal match, Akash Hossain lost to his Pakistani rival Mohammad Sayan 6-3, 6-3 while in the girls’ singles quarterfinal Jannat Hawlader conceded 6-3, 6-1 defeat to her Sri Lankan rival Norbet Annaya Joanie of Sri Lanka.

Under-14 boys/girls players from hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore and Timor Leste are participating in the competition which is being held under the management of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association and under the approval of the International Tennis Federation.
