Rahmatganj blank Ctg. Abahani 3-0 in Fed Cup

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS)- The Old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends
Society blanked 10-men Chittagong Abahani Limited by 3-0 goals in their third
group B match of the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football held at Rafiq
Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday.

With the day's win, Rahmatganj reached top of the points table with nine
points from three matches in group B while the port city team Chittagong
Abahani remained at their previous collection of one points from four
outings.

Abahani Limited, the other team of the group B, also have nine points from
three matches but Rahmatganj stands top of the table by virtue of better goal
difference than Abahani.

Rahmatganj will play their last group match against Abahani Limited on
February 4 to decide the group champions.

In the day's match, Egyptian midfielder Mostafa Kahraba, Ghanaian forward
Samuel Boateng and forward Mohammed Fahim Nur Toha scored one apiece for
Ragmatganj who led the first half by 2-0 goals.
 
Mostafa opened an account scoring the first goal for Rahmatganj in the 32nd
minute while Boateng doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 42nd
minute of the match.

After the resumption, Toha sealed the victory scoring the third goal for
Rahmatganj in the 71st minute of the match.
 
Chittagong Abahani were reduced to 10-men when Sujon Miah was shown direct
red card by the referee for his unsporting behavior during the match.
 
Earlier, Rahmatganj beat Mohammedan by 1-0 goal in their opening group match
and thrashed Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by 6-0 goals.
