DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS)-The national women’s football team
will return to international football after a four-month
hiatus as they are set to play two friendly matches against
United Arab Emirates in February and March.

Ahead of the two matches, the women’s football team already
started gym and fitness training from last week under the
assistant coaches as per the prescription of head coach
Peter James Butler at the Bangladesh Football Federation
(BFF) Bhaban.

The Bangladesh women’s football team will leave here for UAE
on February 24.

Talking to BSS today (Saturday), BFF women's wing
chairperson Mahfuz Akter Kiron said the team’s head coach
would return from his break by this week to take the charge
of the ongoing camp.

When asked about her expectation with the women’s football
team from the two friendlies, Kiron said she is optimistic
about the girls’ good performance in UAE.

Earlier, UAE has agreed to play two friendly matches,
although the specific dates are yet to be finalized. The
first match is expected to take place at the end of
February, followed by the second match in early March.

Bangladesh women’s football team played their last
international match in October last year. The Sabina and Co.
rewrote the history by winning back to back title of the
coveted SAFF Women’s Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
