BCB announces chairmen of standing committees

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today named the chairmen of the all standing committees sans two.

Names of the chairmen were announced after a meeting of the BCB office at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Faruque Ahmed, who was elected BCB president after the fall of the Awami League regime, got it tough to continue the daily works of the board.

Since just 10 directors including Faruque is active at this moment, most of the directors got more than one committee to run BCB in full swing.

Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu has been named as the chairman of media and communications committee.

Najmul Abedin Fahim will head the Cricket Operations and Women’s Wing while president Faruque Ahmed kept the Marketing Committee at his hands. 

The chairman was given the responsibility to name the full committee of the respective department as early as possible, Mithu said.

Chairmen of 21 standing committees were named while Working and Security Committee are yet to be announced.
 
Other standing committee chairmen are as follows: 
Fahim Sinha: Finance, Game Development, Logistic and Protocol, Mahbub Anam: Grounds, High Performance Unit, Tender and Purchase, Akram Khan: Tournament, Facilities Management and Physically Challenged persons, Saiful Alam  Chowdhury Sopon: Age Group, Disciplinary, Mohammad Salahuddin: CCDM, Audit, Monjur Alam: Medical, Welfare, Kazi Inam: Bangladesh Tigers
