DHAKA, April 27, 2025 (BSS)-Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine laid emphasize on
sticking to the plan as his side oozed with confidence to win the second and
final Test and sweep the series against Bangladesh.

The final Test starts from tomorrow (Monday) at Bir Shrestha Matiur Rahman
Stadium in Chattogram.

Zimbabwe won the first Test by three wickets despite coming to the match as
underdog.

"I think it's really important to obviously understand the processes that got
you to that Test win," Ervine said in Chattogram today.

"It's not about putting added pressure on ourselves just because we are 1-0
up and there's an expectation to come in and win the series."

We need to break it down into small bits and make sure we stick to our
processes and stick to our plans, he said.

"You do that for as long as possible to give yourself the best chance. You
can't really be thinking about the outcome too early. "

The victory against Bangladesh was Zimbabwe's first in Test format since
2021.

The Sylhet wicket in fact played to Zimbabwe pacers' strength and coupled
with Bangladeshi batters wayward batting, they were able to dominate the
Test.

Zimbabwe also had their own batting vulnerability as they struggled to chase
only 174-run target in Sylhet Test.

After batting in the net, Ervine understood well that the Chattogram wicket
will assist the spinners more than the pacers.

Zimbabwe's shortcomings against spinners were also evidenced in how they
struggled against Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the first Test.

But Ervine was unfazed by it, saying that they are ready to take up the spin
challenge in a bid to win the game.

"We found the nets (batting in net) a little bit slower. Maybe as the game
goes on, spin will play a bigger part in this Test," Ervine said.

"But again, we have to try and assess the conditions leading up to tomorrow.
We would like to do that as well as we can to win the Test. "

"Like I said, it's about assessing the conditions out there. You obviously
try to make a call as late as possible to work out what combination will work
best for us."
