DINAJPUR, April 29, 2025 (BSS)- The Festival of Youth 21-day football training for under-15 youth was inaugurated at the Gore-A Shaheed Boro Maidan in Dinajpur today (Tuesday). 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Noor A Alam formally inaugurated the training by releasing balloons and festoons as the chief guest. 

A total of twenty five trainees - twenty five of boys and fifteen of girls -- from different school and clubs of the district are taking part in the training, which is being held as a part of the annual sports programme of the Dinajpur District Sports Department. 

On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Noor A Alam said that a person needs to study hard to be a good player or a good student. Along with studies, a person also needs to regularly practice sports. 

Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Anwar Hossain, district BNP vice president Khalequzzaman Babu and Dinajpur City Jamaat Ameer Sirajus Salehin and other dignitaries spoke on the occasion as special guests. District sports officer Md. Asaduzzaman presided over the programme. 

The organizers informed that the 21-day training would run from morning to evening each day. The sessions would be conducted by former footballers and AFC-trained coaches Md. Sohel Rana and Noor Islam Belal. 

After the training, six trainees will be selected and sent to the Rangpur division. Later, sixteen trainees will be selected from Rangpur division, who will then be sent to Dhaka to take part in the Development Cup tournament.
