Fakirerpool register fourth win in BPL

DHAKA, May 3, 2025 (BSS)- Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club, came from behind, recorded their fourth win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football defeating Chittagong Abahani Limited by 3-2 goals held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur today (Saturday).

In the day’s match, Ben Ibrahim Ouattara scored a brace while forward Md Sayed Hossen Sayem supported him with a lone goal for Fakirerpool.
Shuvo Raj Bongshi and midfielder Faysal Ahmed netted one goal apiece for Chittagong Abahani Limited. 

The match was locked 1-1 at the breather. 

Shuvo Raj Bongshi scored the first goal for Chittagong Abahani ahead in the 33rd minute but the lead last for a minute when Ben Ibrahim Ouattara restored
the parity for Fakirerpool in the 34th minute of the match. 

After the resumption, Ben Ibrahim put Fakirerpool ahead scoring his second goal in the 76th minute while Sayed Hossen Sayem further widened the margin scoring the third goal for Fakirerpool in the 90+1st minute of the match.

Faysal Ahmed pulled one back scoring the second goal for Chittagong Abahani in the 90+3rd minute.  

The day’s win saw, Fakirerpool raised their tally to 13 points from 13 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited remained bottom of the table with three points playing the same number of matches. 

Earlier, in the first leg, Fakirerpool blanked Chittagong Abahani by 2-0 goals held at Mymensingh district stadium in Mymensingh.
