DHAKA, May 8, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh Under-19 team won the six-match youth ODI series against Sri Lankan youth team by 3-2 margin after the sixth and final game was washed out due to heavy rain at Colts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo today.

Electing to bat first, Bangladesh reached 188-3 in 39.1 overs after which the rain started pouring. As it showed no sign of stopping, the match was forced to be called off.

The match was Sri Lanka's last chance to avoid the series defeat. However, Bangladesh made a poor start to the innings by losing opener Abrar Zawad for a duck in the second over.

Captain Azizul Hakim and Kalam Siddiki steadied the innings with a 65-run partnership before Hakim added another 108-run with Rizan Hossain for the third wicket.

Hakim missed his century by six runs after being dismissed for 94. His 111-ball-knock was studded with seven fours and two sixes.

By the time, when the rain started, Rizan was batting on 48 with Md Abdullah on 5. Kalam Siddiki made 31 runs.

Bangladesh began the six-match series disappointingly by tasting a 98-run in the first match. But they clawed back in style to take the upper-hand, winning three matches in a row.

Sri Lanka then won the fifth match to raise a prospect of avoiding a series defeat but that was not to be eventually.
