IM Neer splits point with his Kazakhstan rival

DHAKA, May 9, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh's International Master (IM) and national champion Manon Reja Neer split point with his Kazakhstan rival IM Ansat Aldiyar in the second round open category of the Asian Individual Chess Championship, currently being held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

The second round matches were held yesterday evening. Bangladesh's FIDE Master (FM) Tahsin Tajwar Zia defeated Sri Lankan Candidate Master (CM) Kodithuwakku Dinujaya in the open category. 

FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid lost to India's Grand Master V Pranav.

In the women's category, woman FIDE master (WFM) Noshin Anjum defeated her Indian rival R Sunanda.

After the second round, IM Manon Reja Neer earned one and a half points, while FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia and WFM Noshin Anjum secured one point each from two matches.

FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid did not earn any points.
