Dhaka Wanderers post 3rd win in BPL

DHAKA, May 9, 2025 (BSS) - Midfielder Nazmul Islam Rasel scored twice as Dhaka Wanderers Club registered third win Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football beating Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-1 goals held at Mymensingh district Stadium in Mymensingh today.

Apart from Rasel’s two goals in the match, midfielder Fazley Rabbi netted a lone goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited. The winners’ led the first half by 2-1 goals.

Rasel opened an account scoring the first goal for Wanderers in the 37th minute and he doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 45+1st minute of the match.

Rabbi reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Chittagong Abahani in the 45+4th minute of the match.

With the day’s win, Dhaka Wanderers, struggling to skip relegation, improved their tally with 10 points from 14 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited remained bottom of the league table with three points playing the same number of outings.  
    
Earlier, in the first leg, Dhaka Wanderers Club beat Chittagong Abahani Limited by a solitary goal held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.

On Saturday, Abahani Limited, Dhaka will play against Bangladesh Police Football Club at Mymensingh district Stadium in Mymensingh while old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society take on Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club at  Birshreshtha Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
