DHAKA, May 10, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh U-19 national football team face their Bhutanese counterpart in second and ultimate group A match of the ongoing SAFF U-19 Championship scheduled to be held at Golden Jubilee Stadium in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, Yupia, India tomorrow (Sunday).

The match will be streamed live on Sportzworkz YouTube channel at 4.30 pm Bangladesh time, followed by the group B match between Sri Lanka and Nepal that begins at 8 pm at the same venue.

Bangladesh must take to the field to play their second group match against Bhutan to confirm their next round of the championship, following their frustrating 2-2 draw against Maldives in the opening group match held on Friday last.

Despite taking 2-0 lead in the first half, courtesy of captain Mazharul Huda Faysal and Md Rifat Kazi, the boys in red and green lost their golden chance of winning the match after Maldives staged a brilliant fight back in second half denying Bangladesh’s deserving victory and eventually the two teams had to leave the field sharing one point apiece.

Meanwhile on the other hand, host India are in a comfortable position after their thumping 8-0 win over Sri Lanka in their opening group B match. Sri Lanka must have to win their second match against Nepal to stay in the championship race.

After the group phase matches, the top two teams from each group will play the cross semifinals billed for May 16.

The final of the tournament is slated on May 18. All the matches will be played at the same venue.

Bangladesh U-19 squad: Ismail Hossain Mahin, Nahidul Islam, Raj Chowdury, Ashikur Rahman, Mithu Chowdhury, Sifat Sahariar, Abdul Riyad Fahim, Salah Uddin Sahed, Delwar, Sani Das, Abdul Kadir, Kamal Merdha, Nazmul Huda Faysal, Siam Omit, Ratul Hasan, Farzad Syed Aftab, Samuel Raksam, Mursed Ali, Joy Ahamed, Sree Sumon Soren, Manik, Rifat Kazi and Ashik.
