IM Neer splits point in 7th round in Asian Chess

DHAKA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh's International Master and national champion Manon Reja Neer split point with his Russian rival International Master Pingin Artem in the 7th round of open category in the Asian Individual Chess Championship which is now being held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.

In a closely contested match played with white pieces, Neer faced the Sicilian Defense and managed to split the point after 43 moves.

Meanwhile, FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia split point with FM Assylov Miras of Kazakhstan while FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid defeated Baturin Vinogradov Miroslav of Russia in the 7th round and both of them bagged three points apiece. 

In the women's category, WFM Noshin Anjum lost to WCM Bayasgalan Khishigbaatar of Mongolia in the 7th round and secured three points.
