Bangladesh earn fourth successive wins

DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh registered their fourth successive wins in the four-nation SAFFU-10 Women's Championship beating Bhutan by 3-0 goals in the return match held at Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital today (Thursday).

With the day's win, the hosts maintained their domination in the league table with 12 points from four matches while Bhutan remained at their previous collection of three points playing the same number of matches. 

In the day's match, Sree Moti Trishna Rani scored a brace in the 33rd and 66th minutes and Sapna netted the other one goal for Bangladesh.

Earlier, the tournament favorite Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 9-1 goals and edged past Nepal by 3-2 goals, defeated Bhutan 4-1. While Bhutan suffered 1-6 defeat to Nepal, blanked Sri Lanka 5-0, lost to Bangladesh 4-1.  

Bangladesh will play their remaining matches against Sri Lanka (July 19) and then Nepal (July 21).

Only four teams -- Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka --are participating in the 6th edition of the tournament. The team that tops the league table after a double round-robin will be crowned champion.
