DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS)—Pakistan captain Salman Agha said the experience of some of his players in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will give them knowledge to prepare for the tricky Mirpur surface.

As many as nine of Pakistan's 15-man squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh have experience of playing in the Bangladesh’s domestic T20 tournament BPL.

Most of the players are used to playing in Mirpur, which is touted a two-paced pitch, a surface that often give the batters a nightmare.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference today, Agha admitted that the input from those who have previously played in Bangladesh will be invaluable.

“Yes, very important. Most of the players have played in BPL, which is very important, obviously, to get the input and experience of them,” Agha said here today.

“And yeah, we have talked, and we have had a chat with them. They have given their inputs, and we have planned accordingly,” he said.

With Bangladesh spinners usually enjoying good outing here in Mirpur, Agha said Pakistan left no stone unturned to prepare for the spin combat.

He said they held a camp in Karachi where they tried to prepare spin-friendly conditions like Mirpur.

“We tried our best to prepare the same kind of pitches and this is the kind of pitch we want to get here,” he said, adding that they are ready to face any kind of challenge. “The pressure is very good, we are very much ready to play again.”

Pakistan have the upper-hand over Bangladesh in overall contest in T20 format, winning 19 and losing just three in 22 meetings. Of late they swept three-match series against Bangladesh in Lahore also.

Agha said the condition of Lahore and Mirpur will be vastly different and hence they will try to assess the condition first.

“We have changed the way we play, and that's how we want to play. But assessing the conditions is always going to be the key.”
