DHAKA, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS)—Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and elected to bat first in the three-match T20 International series opening game against Bangladesh at Sharjah Cricket Stadium today.

Bangladesh made two changes from their last game of the Asia Cup against Pakistan with Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Nasum Ahmed returning to the fold, replacing Towhid Hridoy and Mahedi Hasan.

Bangladesh lost that game to Pakistan to squander a golden chance to move to the Asia Cup final.

Afghanistan met Bangladesh in the group phase, losing the game by eight runs, a defeat that effectively ruled their Super Fours possibility out.

But in overall T20 record, Afghanistan still have slight edge over Bangladesh by winning seven and losing six in 14 meetings. The remaining match was washed out.

If Bangladesh wins today, they can level the overall record against Afghans.
