DHAKA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS)-Chattogram Division tasted its first defeat in the
ongoing NCL T20 tournament when defending champions Rangpur downed them by
five wickets in a low-scoring match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium
today.

Being sent to bat first, Chattogram managed to put up a meager 138-7, despite
a valiant effort from Irfan Shukkur who was unbeaten on 64 off 46, after
hitting seven fours and three sixes.

Irfan was the instrumental in Chattogram's innings as they lost wickets at
regular interval, courtesy to carnage by Abdul Gaffar Saqlain who claimed 3-
21 to lead Rangpur's bowling.

Captain Yasir Ali was the other notable scorer of Chattogram with 22.

Rangpur also struggled in the crease before reaching 141-5 for their second
victory in the tournament in 18 overs.

Nasir Hossain was the top-scorer with 43 while opener Jahid Javed made 39.
They added 78 runs for the second wicket to edge the side closer to the
victory before Chattogram hinted to claw back into the contest by taking some
wickets in quick succession.

However, captain Akbar Ali, played a 14 ball-26 not out to make it rather a
facile victory.
