Rajshahi Int'l Jr. Tennis Championship begins tomorrow

DHAKA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS)-The 30th Rajshahi Int'l (U-18) Junior Tennis 
Championship, organized by Rajshahi Tennis Complex, begins in Rajshahi 
tomorrow (Saturday).

Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Khondoker Azim Ahmed is expected to 
inaugurate the week-long meet as the chief guest.

Under the approval of International Tennis Federation, the championship will 
be held by the financial assistance of Ministry of Youth and Sports and 
overall cooperation of Bangladesh Tennis Federation. 

In this regards a press conference was held at Rajshahi auditorium today 
(Friday) to provide all the details of the meet. 

Rajshahi Additional Divisional Commissioner and tournament director Mohammad 
Habibur Rahman said a total of fifty two boys and girls players from eleven 
countries including host Bangladesh will compete in the meet.

He said that among the participating countries, there are fourteen boys and 
seven girls from Bangladesh, six boys and four girls from India, four boys 
from South Korea, one boy from America, five boys from Thailand, one boy and 
one girl from Japan, four girls from China, two girls from Maldives, one boy 
from Chinese Taipei, one boy from Singapore, and one boy from Hong Kong will 
participate in the championship.

The qualifying matches of the tournament will be held from October 4 to 5, 
and the main draw matches will begin from October 6.

He hoped that this prestigious international tennis tournament of the country 
will be successfully concluded with the cooperation of everyone.
