FIDE Chess Olympiad begins Monday

DHAKA, Oct 18, 2025 (BSS)-The 2nd FIDE Chess Olympiad for people with 
disabilities begins in Astana, Kazakhstan from Monday (October 20).

A total of 36 teams from 31 countries and three organisations will take part 
in this team event.

Seven teams, including Bangladesh, from Asia have qualified to participate in 
the event.

Bangladesh team-Syed Ejaz Husain, Md Ali Newaz Sarker, Mohammad Aminul Islam, 
Mohammad Obaidul Islam, Nurunahar Tanima, Md Arifuzzaman Arif, Member of the 
Ad-hoc Committee of the Bangladesh Chess Federation is the Head of Delegation 
of Bangladesh team for people with disabilities.
