Bangladesh to host Afghanistan-Myanmar match on November 18

DHAKA, Oct 21, 2025 (BSS)-Bangladesh is going to enter International stage as the neutral home venue through an another AFC Asian Cup qualifying match between Afghanistan and Myanmar on November 18 in Dhaka.

Since Bangladesh and India will also square off at the National Stadium on the same day, Afghanistan will play their home match against Myanmar in this venue. The match is likely to take place at the Bashundhara Kings Arena, the only other AFC-certified venue currently in Bangladesh.

This is the first time that Bangladesh is going to host such a neutral venue this is going to be a new chapter for Bangladeshi football as well.

Earlier, the Afghanistan Football Federation requested the Bangladesh Football Federation to host their home match. Later with the approval of Asian Football Confederation, the match was finalized to be held in Dhaka. 

Bangladesh has now established itself as a country in South Asia with the appropriate infrastructure, security and efficient management to host international football. Like the Middle East, Bangladesh has now achieved full capacity to host international match as well.
