U-18 boys' kabaddi team win first medal in Youth Asian Games

DHAKA, Oct 23, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh's U-18 boys' kabaddi team created history at the 3rd Asian Youth Games as they won bronze medal for the first time in the tournament, bringing the country's second medal today (Thursday).

Earlier, Bangladesh's U-18 girls' kabaddi team created history by defeating Sri Lanka to win its first medal. Thanks to the boys' team's success, Bangladesh has won a total of two bronze medals in the Games so far.

In their last match held at Isa Sports City in Bahrain, the Bangladesh boys' kabaddi team defeated hosts Bahrain by a huge margin of 106-17 points. With this victory, Bangladesh secured third place among the seven teams participating in the kabaddi discipline.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Bahrain Md Rais Hasan Sarower, was present there to encourage the Bangladesh boys’ kabaddi team.

Bangladesh could not win any medal in the previous two editions of the Asian Youth Games. But this time Bangladesh won two bronze medals through Kabaddi discipline.
