DHAKA, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS)—A wretched batting performance saw Bangladesh Under-19 bundled out for just 136 in their first game of the Youth World Cup Super Six phase at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe today.

A victory is must for Bangladesh youngsters in this match to keep their semifinal hopes alive. A defeat would end all their hopes straightway.

Bangladesh batters failed to show any grit after electing to bat first in what was a must-win situation for them.

Despite losing opener Zawad Abrar for 6, Bangladesh got going well, thanks to Rifat Beg and captain Azizul Hakim Tamim.

However, the rot began after England bowler Farhan Ahmed broke through with the wicket of Rifat, ending 46-run partnership for the second wicket.

Rifat Beg who made 31, eventually became the highest-scorer for Bangladesh.

Soon after Hakim followed his suit after scoring 20 and Bangladesh batting line up then fell like a pack of cards, losing the rest of the seven wickets for 64 runs.

Mohammad Abdullah was the other notable contributor with 25.

Sebastian Morgan was the standout bowler for England with 3-28 while Ralphie Albert and Manny Lumsden picked up two wickets apiece.
