Women's Hockey Team to depart for Indonesia Monday

DHAKA, April 15, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh women's hockey team will depart here
for Indonesia on Monday (April 20) to take part in the women's Asian Games
Qualifying Hockey scheduled to be held from April 23-29 in Jakarta,
Indonesia.

Bangladesh Women's Hockey Team, for the first time, is going to participate
in the qualifying tournament.
 
Bangladesh, which pitted in Group A along with Chinese Taipei, Uzbekistan and
Hong Kong, will play their group opening match against Chinese Taipei on
April 23 before facing Uzbekistan and Hong Kong on April 24 and 26
respectively.
 
The two champions and runners-up from the two groups will play in the semi-
finals. All four semi-finalists will get a chance to play in the Asian Games.
 
Earlier, Bangladesh Men's Hockey Team took part in the men's qualifying
hockey held in Thailand and confirmed their participation in the Asian Games.
