DHAKA, June 1, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh women's national under-18 field hockey team bounced back from their opening-match defeat to earn a 2–0 victory over Chinese Taipei women's national under-18 field hockey team in their second Pool B match of the Women's U-18 Asia Cup held in Kakamigahara on Monday.

After a scoreless first quarter, Kona Akter gave Bangladesh the lead from a penalty corner in the 29th minute.

Bangladesh maintained control for much of the contest, and Airin Riya sealed the victory with a field goal in the 55th minute.

The win marked a strong response from the young Bangladeshi side after suffering a heavy 12–0 defeat against host nation Japan women's national under-18 field hockey team in their opening group-stage match.

Bangladesh will next face China women's national under-18 field hockey team in their third Pool B match, scheduled for Tuesday.
