Reception accorded to freedom fighters in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, March 26, 2025 (BSS) - District Administration today accorded a reception to freedom fighters, martyrs' family members and provided financial aid marking the Independence Day and National Day at the auditorium of the district Shilpakala Academy.

Besides, various programs were arranged in the district with due respect on the occasion. 

In the morning, the district administration paid homage to the martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the martyred freedom fighter memorial in Kachari Chattar area. 

Later, Freedom Fighters' Association, various educational institutions and various political parties placed wreaths at the martyred memorial.

At 11.30 am, a reception was given to the war-wounded freedom fighters, freedom fighters and martyrs' family members of the Liberation War at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium. 

With Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Jannat in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by superintendent of police Md. Shamsul Alam Sarkar, deputy director of the Local Government Department Moushumi Mahbub, former upazila chairman Advocate Mujibur Rahman, freedom fighters Alhaj Abu Bakkar Madbar and Md. Alauddin Ahmed.

Later, greeting gifts were given to the freedom fighters and martyred family members.
