4 held with huge phensedyl in Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, March 27, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives arrested four presumed drug traders with huge phensedyl from different areas in Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat districts in the last 24 hours ending this afternoon.
 
"The elite force seized a total of 597 bottles of smuggled phensedyl in these drives," said two separate press releases issued here by senior assistant director (Media) of RAB-13, additional superintendent of Police Abul Hossain today.
 
On a tip-off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC) from Dinajpur Camp of RAB-13 in a drive seized 497 bottles of phensedyl and arrested three men from Dastampur village in Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon on Wednesday.
 
The detainees were identified as Md. Hasinur Rahman, 24, of Danajpur village and Md. Martul, 47 and Ratan Sharma, 34, both of village Dastampur Madhyapara under Pirganj upazila in Thakurgaon district.

Another operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur headquarters in a raid seized 100 bottles of phensedyl and arrested one person from Bhelaguri village under Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Wednesday afternoon.

The arrested man was identified as Md. Shafiqul Islam, 35, of village Uttar Jawrani under Hatibandha upazila in Lalmonirhat district.

The elite force handed over the arrested persons to the concerned police stations in Thakurgaon and Lalmonirhat districts for further legal actions, the releases added.
