PATUAKHALI, April 5, 2025 (BSS) - Md Ashiqur Rahman Ridoy, 17, who succumbed to his injuries yesterday at Baufal Upazila Health Complex, was buried at his family graveyard here today.

Son of a rickshaw puller Ansar Hawlader, Ridoy was an inhabitant of West Jouta village of Baufal Sadar Upazila of the district.

The victim, a construction worker, used to work in Dhaka. He was injured in a police firing during the July uprising at Jatrabari in the capital city on July 18 last year.

He was shot on his head and subsequently underwent treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after the political changeover on August 5, 2024.

Earlier, physicians removed two splinters out of three from his head, leaving him in myriad aches and pains since then.

After some months, he was further admitted to Baufal Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injures there on Friday last.

Mujahidul Islam Shaheen, executive member of the July Shaheed Memorial Foundation and head of the legal support team related to the July Movement, among others, attended his Namaz-e-Janaza.
