PIROJPUR, April 6, 2025 (BSS) - The National and International Sports Day 2025 has been observed here in the district today.

To mark the day, the district administration and the district sports office jointly brought out a colourful procession at 10:00am. The procession began from Pirojpur circuit house, moved through different important points and ended at the district administrative office premises.

This year's theme is "Youth Participation, Improving the Quality of Sports."

Besides, a discussion was held at Shahid Razzak-Saif Mizan memorial room, followed by the procession. 

Pirojpur deputy commissioner (DC) Mohammad Asraful Alam Khan addressed the discussion as the chief guest and additional DC (revenue) Md. Aminul Islam, additional police super Nasrin Jahan, deputy-director of the department of youth development Md. Abdul Hai Mollik and district sports officer Hussain Ahamed spoke at the event as special guests.

The speakers emphasized the benefits of sports, its role in restraining youths from drugs and crimes.
