PATUAKHALI, May 26, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day land fair began today at Baufal upazila in the district.

Baufal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Aminul Islam inaugurated the fair by cutting a ribbon as the chief guest.

The upazila land office organized the fair with the aim of easing and promoting citizen-friendly land services.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Protik Kumar Kundu presided over the inaugural programme, while Upazila Accounts Officer Md Kaiyum Khan, Upazila Primary Education Officer Md Atiqul Islam, Baufal Press Club President Md Jalilur Rahman, and General Secretary Md Jashim Uddin, among others, attended the function.

Earlier, a rally was brought out from the upazila land office premises and concluded at Bhumi Chatta after parading through nearby streets.

A quiz competition was also organized on the occasion to enhance students' knowledge about land. Later, prizes were distributed among ten students.

In the remaining days, a mass awareness meeting and seminar will be held alongside the fair.
