RAJSHAHI, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) has launched drives against illegal occupation, unauthorized building construction and use of plots for purposes not permitted under city regulations.

On Thursday, RDA officials carried out inspections in the Padma residential area and found several leaseholders violating the terms of their agreements by operating schools, madrasas, and commercial establishments on their plots.

The drive, led by Executive Magistrate Moshiur Rahman, instructed nine plot owners to remove the unauthorized structures within a stipulated time.

Owners of two buildings under construction were also warned to complete their works strictly according to the approved designs, failing which legal action would be taken.

Additionally, the RDA team cleared the internal entrance roads of Gadhuly Market which had been illegally occupied.

RDA Authorized Officer Engineer Abdullah Al Tarique said the authority will continue its drives against all illegal occupations and unauthorized constructions to protect public interest.
