Three robbers held in Tangail

TANGAIL, May 26, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested 3 members of a robber gang
in connection with a bus robbery on the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway.

The arrested are Sabbir Hossain, 34, son of Sanwar Hossain, Sihab Sarkar, 27,
son of Abdul Hamid Sarkar, and Jahangir Alam, 3, son of late Iman Ali Sheikh,
hailed from Sirajganj district.

Superintendent of Police(SP) of the district Mizanur Rahman confirmed this
while briefing newsmen at his office this afternoon.

He said the robbers were arrested from Tangail and Sirajganj districts on
Sunday night. They are active members of an inter-district robber gang and
they have been committing robberies in an organized way at different times,
he added.

There are multiple cases against them in different police stations, the
police official continued.

The operation to arrest other robbers is going on.

Earlier, a robbery incident took place on a bus of Al Imran Paribahan last
Tuesday night. Next afternoon, bus passenger Minu Mia filed a case with
Tangail Sadar Police Station accusing 8 to 9 unknown people in this
connection.
