Looted firearm, ammunition recovered in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - One looted firearm and 12 rounds of bullets were recovered in an abandoned condition from a kashbon at the Bashari area under Kasiadanga Police Station in the city last night.

On a tip-off, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a raid in the area and recovered a foreign pistol, a magazine and 12 rounds of shotgun bullets from the area adjacent to the River Padma around 2 am.

RAB sources said the miscreants looted 164 firearms from different police stations, outposts and boxes of RMP during the anti-discrimination student movement in the city.

So far, 147 of those were recovered, sources added.

Police, RAB and joint forces will continue drives to recover the rest of the firearms and ammunition.
