CHAPAINAWABGANJ, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - Corrugated iron sheets, cash money and dry food were distributed among the underprivileged and helpless people in Shibganj upazila of the district this afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner Md Abdus Samad distributed these items among the distressed people as the chief guest at a function held at the Upazila Parishad premises with the funding of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and the Social Services Department.

A total of 24 families of the upazila were given a bundle of corrugated tin and cash checks of Taka 3 thousand each, 53 families were given dry food and 52 families were given financial assistance.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Azahar Ali presided over the function.

Among others, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Tawfiq Aziz, Upazila Engineer Md Harun-or Rashid, Project Implementation Officer Md Mizanur Rahman, Social Service Officer Md Nurul Islam and Upazila Education Officer Md Musabbir Hossain Khan were present.
