Two diagnostic centres fined in Chandpur

CHANDPUR, May 27, 2025 (BSS) - Two diagnostic centres were fined Tk 30,000 during a regular drive today for possessing expired test kits in the district. 

Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate's District Office Abdullah Al Imran led the drives in the Shaheed Minar and Sadar Hospital areas of the district.

'New Modern Digital Diagnostic Centre' was fined Tk 10,000 and 'Famous Diagnostic Centre' was fined Tk 20,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for having expired test kits.

The fines were collected on the spot. Later, the expired kits were destroyed by the concerned authorities.

As part of regular drive, raids were carried out in the areas, Abdullah Al Imran said. 

District Health Inspector Md Nazrul Islam and a team from Sadar Model Police Station provided overall assistance during the drive.
