RANGPUR, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested six suspected drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of ganja, phensedyl, and three motorcycles in separate drives conducted in Lalmonirhat and Rangpur districts over the past 48 hours.
According to separate press releases, the seized contraband includes 24 kilograms of smuggled ganja, 177 bottles of phensedyl, and three motorcycles.
In a raid conducted at around 3:45 am on Wednesday, an operational team of RAB-13's Sadar Company seized 24 kg of ganja and arrested one person, Arif, 35, of Jamgram village under Patgram Police Station in Lalmonirhat district.
In another drive, a special team of RAB-13 recovered 99 bottles of phensedyl and three motorcycles from Teesta Toll Plaza area in Afzalnagar village under Sadar Police Station in Lalmonirhat. Five persons were arrested during the raid.
The arrestees are Sumi Begum, 25, of Basudebpur area under Hakimpur Police Station in Dinajpur, Rubel Mia, 39, Azizul Hakim Naeem, 25, Nadeem, 35 and Esha Moni, 18.
In a separate raid, another team of RAB-13's Sadar Company seized 80 bottles of phensedyl from Chondipur Balapara village under Kawnia Police Station in Rangpur and arrested Mohsin Ali, 23, of Sarangjani Khalaighat village under Sadar Police Station in Lalmonirhat.
Separate cases were filed in these connections and the arrested persons, along with the seized drugs and motorcycles, were handed over to the respective police stations.
