DHAKA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) - Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's senior assistant press secretary Ashiq Islam's mother-in-law Lutfunnesa Begum today passed away at her residence in the district of Jashore at the age of 84.

Lutfunnesa, wife of prominent businessman Golam Mortuza, breathed her last around 8am at her residence adjacent to Jashore Judge Court area as she had prolonged illness for a long time after suffering a stroke.

She is survived by her husband, a son, a daughter and a lot of admirers. 

Her first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Jahore Eidgah Maidan after Zuhr prayers. 

Lutfunnesa will be buried in the family graveyard following her second Namaz-e-Janaza at Hazir Bagh in Jashore After Asr prayers.
