Preparatory meeting on Durga Puja held in Narail

NARAIL, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS)- A preparatory meeting for smooth celebration of Durga Puja was held in Narail today. 

The meeting, organized by the district administration, took place with Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhtar Jahan in the chair at DC Conference room.

Senior government officials of the district including the chiefs of law enforcing agencies, Hindu Buddhist Christian Welfare Front advocate Pankaj Bihari Ghosh, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Ashok Kundu, and Joint Secretary Babul Bhattacharita were present.

Durga Puja will be celebrated in the district in 524 mandaps. Out of them 239 mandaps will be set up in Sadar Upazila, including 38 in Narail Municipality, while 144 puja will be held in Lohagara Upazila and 141 in Kalia Upazila.

To ensure peaceful celebrations, several decisions were made, including installation of CCTV cameras at important mandaps, construction of entrance for searching of visitors and appointment of local volunteers in each venue. 

Members of Ansar and VDP will be deployed full-time at all mandaps during the Puja period. 

Additionally, security will be strengthened through coordination among the police and other law enforcement agencies to avoid any untoward incident, the meeting decided.
