NARAYANGANJ, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - Two children drowned in a pond at Saizadi village under Haizadi union of Araihazar upazila in the district this afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman Anis, 7, son of Abul Hossain, and Jahidur Rahman Zahed, 5, son of Jahangir Hossain, both residents of Saizadi village. They were first-grade students.
Family sources said the duo was playing beside a pond near their house when they accidentally fell into it.
They were later rescued and taken to Araihazar Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Resident Medical Officer of the health complex Ashraful Amin said the children had died before being brought to the hospital due to excess water in their stomachs.
