Durga Puja to be celebrated in 368 mandaps in Natore

NATORE, Sept 14, 2025 (BSS) - Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bangalee Hindu community, will be celebrated at 368 mandaps in the district this year.

On the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja celebration, a preparatory meeting was held this morning at the Deputy Commissioner Conference room.

Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen presided over the meeting. 

The meeting discussed and decided to celebrate Durga Puja with due dignity and properly from September 28 to October 2. To maintain law and order in each mandaps, it was decided to appoint its own security personnel, ensure security with the help of police and Ansar forces.

Besides, round-the-clock control rooms and mobile observation teams will work at the district and upazila levels. 

The meeting was addressed by Superintendent of Police Md. Tariqul Islam, Additional District Magistrate and Administrator of Natore Municipality Asma Khatun, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Abul Hayat and Acting President of District Puja Udjavan Parishad Advocate Khagendra Nath Roy, among others.
