Worker electrocuted in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - A worker was electrocuted while on duty at the Rajapur Salt Company in Sener Bazar of Rupsha upazila early this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam Howlader, 33, son of Abdur Rahim Howlader, a resident of Aichgati Union under Rupsha upazila.

The accident occurred around 8:00 am when Rabiul, employed at the company, was extracting salt clay from a warehouse. During the work, a live power line came into contact with the clay, causing fatal electrocution.

Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Rupsha police station, said police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident.

Rabiul's body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) for an autopsy. 

The OC added that legal action would be initiated if any complaint is filed regarding the incident.
