One held with 103 kg venison in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive arrested a deer poacher with 103 kilograms of venison from Chhota Angtihara area under Koyra Police Station in Khulna district early today.

The arrested man was Mizanur Rahman, son of late Sattar Ali Gazi of Angtihara village of the upazila 

Based on information, a Coast Guard team conducted a drive in the area around 1 am and arrested Mizanur with 103 kg venison, a deer head and about 300 meters long deer hunting trap, said Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq this afternoon.

The seized venison and the arrested man were later handed over to the Andamanik Forest Office in Koira for legal action. 

Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq told BSS that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent wildlife killing and smuggling.
