Mobile phones worth Tk 25 lakh seized in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 85 mobile phones of various brands worth Taka 25 lakh from Kalaroa border area of the district last night.
 
These mobile phone sets, smuggled from India, were seized from Gerakhali border of the Kalaroa upazila.

A BGB team from Kakdanga BOP conducted the raid in the area based on secret information that a group of smugglers were entering Bangladesh from India through Gerakhali border of Kalaroa upazila with a large consignment of mobile phones.
 
During the raid, 85 android mobile phones of various brands were seized. Sensing the presence of BGB, the smugglers fled.

Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Ashraful Haque confirmed the matter and said that the seized mobile phones have been handed over to Satkhira Customs Office.
