4 held with around 10 kg of ganja in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four alleged drug dealers with 9.70 kg of ganja from the city's New Jummapara Purbatari area under Kotwali Police Station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP). 

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13's Sadar Company searched a motorcycle at 5:10 am on Sunday. During the search, the team arrested four persons, recovered ganja from their possession, and seized the motorcycle, according to a press release issued today. 

The detainees were identified as Md A Matin, 38, of the Rupsidanga area under Katakhali Metropolitan Police Station of Rajshahi metropolis; Md Rubel Mia, 32; Md Sabuj Mia, 36; and Md Elahi Barsha, 20, of the New Jummapara area, Rangpur metropolis.

The elite force handed over the arrested persons along with the seized ganja and motorcycle to Kotwali Police Station, the release added.
