SHERPUR, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive fined two fertilizer traders Taka 1 lakh 20 thousand for selling fertilizer in high price than the government's fixed price and selling without license.

The mobile court of Sadar upazila administration conducted a drive in Akher Mahmud Bazar area around 1 pm and fined Meem Enterprise Taka 1 lakh for selling fertilizer in high price than the government fixed price at Akher Mahmud Bazar in Sadar upazila, and Shishir Enterprise Taka 20,000 for selling fertilizer without a license.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Bhuiyan led the mobile court. Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Muslima Khanam Nilu and Extension Officer Md. Anwar Hossain along with Ansar members were present at the time. 

Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Muslima Khanam Nilu said that the Agriculture Department is working in the field to break the fertilizer syndicate as part of its regular activities. The drive is being conducted to protect the interests of farmers in this regard.
