GAIBANDHA, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) - Police today recovered the body of a woman school teacher from the Ghagot river in Komornoi area of the town.

The deceased was identified as Tasmin Ara Naaz, 28, an assistant teacher of Modern NH Government Primary School and a resident of Purbo Komornoi Miah Para.

Locals first spotted her body floating in the river around noon and informed police, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Thana Shahinul Talukdar.

Police later recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha General Hospital for autopsy.

"The cause of death could not be ascertained immediately. It will be known after receiving the autopsy report," the OC added.
