CHUADANGA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) – Speakers at a meeting today called for taking prompt actions to tackle environment pollution in Chuadanga district.

“Environment pollution has been rising alarmingly in the district due to black fumes of brick kilns, clinical waste and smoke of vehicles”, they told at the meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here.

Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhter presided over the meeting while assistant deputy director of Chuadanga district office of Department of Environment Naresh Chandra Sen presented the keynote paper on different aspects of environment pollution.

President of Brick Kiln Owners’ Association Khwaja Nasir Uddin, officials and representatives of relevant organizations, among others, addressed the meeting.
Sharmin Akhter said, “Fumes from brick kilns and vehicles make the air heavy with toxins, leading to various respiratory diseases. Not only that brick kilns are permanently damaging the country's soil, putting our farmers in a crisis”.

“Clinical wastes are also a danger to public health as they can spread dangerous germs through inhalation and touch. We are working relentlessly so that we can assure a safe Chaudanga to our next generation”, she also added.
