Islamic scholars call for establishing communal harmony in Rajbari

RAJBARI, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - A views exchange meeting on 'What the Islamic scholars should do to consolidate religious tolerance and communal harmony' was held in the district today. 

The meeting was held at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation today at the initiative of the Rajbari District Islamic Foundation. 

Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akhter was present at the meeting as the chief guest with Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation SM Hafizur Rahman in the chair.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abu Russel was present as the special guest. 

Among others, District Imam Committee President Md. Ilias Ali Molla, Principal of Bhandaria Madrasa Abul Ershad Md. Sirajum Monir and Awabullah Ibrahim, principal of Sengram Madrasa in Pangsha Upazila were present at the meeting.

The speakers said in our country, Muslims have observed fasting and Hindus have performed their religious rituals without any hesitation in the past. Muslims have always been religiously tolerant. They have never been in favor of radical communal fundamentalism. 

Deputy Commissioner Sultana Akhtar called for everyone's cooperation to celebrate Durga Puja peacefully.
