BOGURA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Kahalu Police have arrested five alleged dacoits from Kurnipara area under Kalai union of the district last night while they were taking preparation for committing a dacoity in the area.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kahalu Thana Netai Chandra Sarkar said that they came to know that a gang of dacoits numbering eight to 12 were taking preparation to commit dacoity at Kurnipara area at about 11.30pm last night. Local people suspected their movement and challenged them. They caught the five dacits red handed. The suspected dacoits were given mass beating by locals and handed over to police.

Police seized a chapatti (a local weapon), a Chinese dagger, two steel rods and two instruments for giving electric shock from the possession of the arrested persons.
 
An attempt to dacoity case was filed with Kahalu Thana in this connection.
