KCC distributes Tk 6.84 lakh to 74 puja mandaps in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) on Tuesday distributed Tk 6. 84 lakh as financial grant among 74 puja mandaps under its jurisdiction ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja 2025. 

Divisional Commissioner and KCC Administrator Md. Firoz Sarkar handed over the cheques to mandap representatives during a ceremony at the Shaheed Altaf Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon as chief guest.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring a festive and secure environment during the celebrations.

The KCC Administrator directed officials to form monitoring committees in every ward to oversee puja preparations, and ensure  safety and cleanliness.

He also instructed that CCTV cameras be installed at entry and exit points of all mandaps, and that immersion ghats be properly cleaned and equipped with adequate lighting.

KCC officials were present, along with leaders of the Hindu Welfare Trust, Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council, Puja Celebration Committee, and mandap representatives.
