Smuggled Indian goods seized from Satkhira border

SATKHIRA, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian liquor, saree, burkhas, and medicines from different border areas of Satkhira district on Wednesday (October 1). 

BGB teams conducted drives in Hijladi, Boikari, Toluigachha, Kakdanga, and Madra border areas under Satkhira sadar and Kalaroa thana and seized the Indian goods.

According to BGB, based on intelligence information, a patrol team of BGB operated a drive and seized 20 bottles of liquor from Shishutola area under Kalaroa upazila.

Lieutenant colonel of Satkhira 33 BGB battalion Md.Ashraful Haque said, "The smuggled goods are worth Taka 726,500. Sensing presence of BGB members, smugglers managed to flee during the operation so we could not arrest them".

"The confiscated goods have been handed over to Satkhira customs and the narcotics are deposited in the BGB store after a general diary with the Department of Narcotics control for destruction in public", he added.
