'World Egg Day-2025' celebrated at CVASU

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS)- 'World Egg Day 2025 was celebrated today at the campus of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) through various programmes. 
 
This year's theme of the day is 'Eggs contain protein, should be eaten daily'.
 
The World Egg Day programme was jointly organised by CVASU's Department of Dairy and Poultry Science, Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council, and World's Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh branch. 

The event featured a colorful procession, distribution of boiled eggs, sale of eggs at affordable prices and discussion meetings.
 
The programmes kicked off at 10 am with a vibrant procession led by CVASU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Mohammad Lutfur Rahman as the chief guest. 

The procession included university teachers, officials, students, and employees.
 
Following the procession, the sale of eggs at discounted prices and distribution of boiled eggs took place at the university's administrative 
building. 

Subsequently, a discussion meeting on 'World Egg Day-2025' was held at the CVASU auditorium.

Teachers, officials, students, and employees from CVASU participated in the discussion. 
 
During the meeting, speakers highlighted the nutritional benefits of farm-raised chicken eggs and emphasized the importance of increasing egg 
production to meet the country's nutritional needs. 

They urged everyone to learn about the nutritional value of eggs and promote their consumption. 

Additionally, they called for coordinated efforts between government and private institutions to stabilize egg prices.
